Discover canoeing and kayaking in the Gorges du Gardon

Located north of Nîmes in the Gard, les gorges du Gardon are a regional nature reserve that is home to the most spectacular scenery during your canoe trip. You simply can’t be immune to the magic that they offer: the view of the garrigue, the smell of holm oak and juniper trees, and the sound of cicadas. Look up to the sky and you might see a Bonnelli’s Eagle flying over your craft. Sssh! Don’t make a noise… in the reeds, are families of beavers the mascots of the Gorges du Gardon.
A kayak and canoe trip for everyone to enjoy this extraordinary setting together!
The Bureau des Moniteurs du Gard can demonstrate easy family descents. Only the routes from Russan include descents for the more athletic.
The conditions for taking part in a course are simple: a minimum of 6 years old and the ability to swim.

You need to take a few precautions to ensure your descent is 100% successful.

The Gorges du Gardon fall under a number of categories (Unesco, Natura 2000 zone, regional nature reserve) and also form part of the network of the Great Sites of France: we would like to ask you to respect these places by being as quiet as possible and not splashing with the paddles so as not to frighten the fauna all around you.

Fires are prohibited : no improvised barbecues!

Please take your waste back home with you. If you need one, the team at the Bureau des moniteurs du Gard can provide you with a rubbish bag before you begin.

Be polite and pay attention to local residents and other users of the natural site (fishermen, horseback riders, mountain bikers, climbers, etc.)
